Ancestry.com Content Update from the week of Aug. 14 - 20

Highlights

  • North Carolina Birth Collection, 1800-2000 - update, fixing some record errors. No new names.*
  • North Carolina Marriage Collection, 1741-2000 - new/updated, total of 2.7 million names.*
  • Montana Death Index, 1907-2002 - new/updated, total of 625,000 names.**
  • Social Security Death Index - updated, 100,000 new names.
  • South Carolina Marriages, 1641-1944 - new, adding 380,000 names
  • Seven NY, IL, and PA newspaper titles - update, adding 24.4 new million names.
  • Thirteen states of City Directories - new/updated, adding 73 million names.**
  • New York Petitions for Naturalization - update, adding 150,000 names and the years of 1926-1934.
  • 1901 England and Wales Census - maintenance update, fixing birth location error, adding customer corrections. No new names.
  • Vital Records books - five new titles from Massachusetts, adding 115,000 names.
  • Customer Created Content – 1 million Message Boards, Trees, RootsWeb Databases, and Customer corrections names added.
  • Total Message Board Posts just passed the 16 million mark.

    • 3) Replace 38 missing images - see list in 1901MaintRelCorr.xls attached to PARQ 9819
    • 4) 25 parishes in Westmorland, England that should be Monmouthshire Wales - Caerwent. Caldicot. Chapel Hill. Chepstow. Dinham. Kilgwrwg. Llangwm Isaf. Llansoy. Llanvair Discoed. Llanvihangel. Llanvihangel Torymynydd. Mounton. Muthern and St Pierre. Newchurch East. Newchurch West. Portskewett. Shire Newton. St Arvans. St Arvans Grange. St Brides Netherwest. Tintern Parva. Trelleck Grange. Undy. Wolves Newton. Wolvesnewton (Note: St Arvans doesn't exist in Westmorland county)
    • 5) Fix birth locations that have recently regressed, ie Somalia and Kent
    • 6) Amlwch belongs in Anglesey not in Caernarvonshire.
    • 7) Image WARRG13_2831_2832-0472. The Civil Parish is “Edgbaston” but should be “Birmingham” and change the ED from "10b" to "10"
    • 8) Isle of Man fix: The civil parish of St Saviour should be part of the island of Guernsey, not Jersey. If we make the island change for EDs 1b, 2b, 3b, and 4b, then we can strip off all the “a” and “b” suffixes.
    • 9) the ED called "Joseph Moore Sheppard" that starts on image SOMRG13_2343_2344-0366 should be changed to ED "Bath Royal United Hospital"
    • 10) the parish Vessles in Yorkshire needs to be changed to Vessels (TEAM 14090)
    • 11) Parish errors in DENBIGHSHIRE (TEAM 14366)
      • Bilston should read Bieston
      • Grinton should read Gourton
      • Rhos should be Rhosllanerchrugog
      • The following parishes should be moved to the county of Merionethshire (Corwen. Bettws Gwerfil Goch. Gwyddelwern.)
    • 12) Parish erros in FLINTSHIRE (TEAM 14366)
      • The following parishes should be moved to the county of Denbighshire (Allington. Cacca Dutton. Dutton Diffeth. Dutton y Bran. Eyton. Gresford. Holt. Marchwiel. Pickhill. Ridley. Royton. Sesswick. Sutton.)
    • 13) Parish errors in MERIONETHSHIRE (TEAM 14366)
      • The following parishes should be moved to the county of Caernarvonshire (Bardsey Isle. Bottwnog. Criccieth.)
      • The following parishes should be moved to the county of Denbighshire (Llangollen. Llansantffraid Glyndyfrdwy.)
    • 14) Parish errors in BRECONSHIRE (TEAM 14366)
      • The parish of "Litton and Cascob" should be moved to the county of Radnorshire.
    • 15)The civil parish of Llanfair Waterdine currently in Breconshire, should be moved to Shropshire, England.
    • 16)Various parish errors in Yorkshire - The parish of Hanborough should actually read Flamborough. The parish of Cowlinge should be spelled Cowling.
    • 17) 4 rolls have rescan folders to be processed
      • Folder RG13_4479_4482rescan has correct images up to image 515, but folder RG13_4479_4482 has correct images from 516 to the end. Move images 516 to the end from the original folder to the rescan, and then swap the folders
      • Folder RG13_4337_4339 has correct images up to 921, but 922 to the end seem to match the date of the images in folder RG13_4337_4339rescan. Move the images 922 to the end from the original folder to the rescan, then rename the rescan folder to RG13_4337_4339wrong.
      • Folder RG13_1105_1107rescan has correct images, swap with original folder
      • Folder RG13_215_217rescan has correct images, swap with original folder
      • Redo the ImageDimensionPopulator for these rolls
