The Every Name 1920 US Census Collection is Here!!

Every name is indexed, searchable and linked to an image!
Triple the index for a total of over 107 million names!
Largest single day release on Ancestry.com ever!

What’s New?

Months of effort was dedicated to not only create an every name index for 1920, but also to preserve the original head-of-household index and links. Both indexes have been merged together into one complete database.

What Does the New Index Mean to You?

By maintaining the original index and keying every name in the new index (including the re-keying of all original head-of-households), we have increased your likelihood of locating an ancestor.

Names with a yellow triangle icon indicate that an alternate spelling is available for search. Anyone who has viewed census images knows how difficult discerning handwriting can be. Providing two interpretations of a name doubles the probability of a successful match.

Search Using Completely New Information!

You now have the ability to search using a known immigration year or the birthplace of one or both of the parents to discover more of your family history.
